Your Roofing Questions Answered

Everything Georgia Homeowners Need to Know About Roof Replacement & Insurance Claims

INSURANCE & CLAIMS

Will my insurance cover a new roof?

It depends on the cause. Storm damage (hail, wind) is typically covered. Normal wear and tear usually isn't. We offer free inspections to determine if you likely qualify.

How do I file a roof insurance claim?

1) Contact your insurance company to report damage

2) They'll send an adjuster

3) Get a professional assessment (that's where we come in)

4) Submit documentation. We can handle this entire process for you.

What if my claim is denied?

Don't give up. Many denials can be reversed with proper documentation. We've overturned 87% of the denials we've appealed.

How long do I have to file a claim after storm damage?

Georgia policies typically allow 1-2 years, but we recommend filing within 60-90 days while evidence is fresh.

Will filing a claim raise my insurance rates?

Storm damage claims are typically "no-fault" and shouldn't raise your rates like liability claims do. However, policies vary—check with your agent.

What's the difference between ACV and RCV?

ACV (Actual Cash Value) is depreciated value paid upfront. RCV (Replacement Cost Value) is full value paid after work completion. Most policies pay ACV first, then RCV minus your deductible.

Do you charge for helping with insurance claims?

No. Our claim assistance is included when you hire us for the installation work.

Can I choose my own roofing contractor, or does insurance assign one?

You have the legal right to choose your own contractor. Insurance companies may suggest contractors, but the choice is always yours.

PRICING & PAYMENT

How much does a roof replacement cost in Georgia?

Typical range is $8,000-$25,000 depending on size, pitch, materials, and complexity. Average home (2,000 sq ft): $12,000-$18,000 for premium materials.

What if insurance doesn't cover the full cost?

We provide detailed estimates so you know any out-of-pocket costs upfront. We also offer financing options for uncovered expenses.

When do I have to pay?

Insurance jobs: Your deductible is typically due when work begins. Final payment (recoverable depreciation) after completion and final inspection. Cash jobs: 50% deposit, 50% upon completion.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, we work with several financing partners for qualified applicants.

Are there hidden fees?

Never. Our estimates are comprehensive and include all labor, materials, permits, disposal, and cleanup.

How are change orders handled?

Any changes to the original scope require written approval with pricing disclosed upfront.

INSTALLATION PROCESS

How long does roof replacement take?

Most residential roofs are completed in 1 day. Larger homes or complex designs may take 2-3 days.

What time do crews arrive?

Typically between 7-8 AM. We'll confirm exact time the day before.

Do I need to be home during installation?

Not required, but we recommend being available for initial walkthrough and final inspection.

Will you protect my landscaping?

Absolutely. We use tarps, plywood walkways, and careful debris containment.

How loud is the process?

Tear-off and nail guns create significant noise. Consider making arrangements if you have small children, pets, or work from home.

What if it rains during installation?

We monitor weather closely and won't start if rain is forecasted. If unexpected weather occurs, we use tarps and ice/water barrier for protection.

How do you handle permits?

We pull all required permits and handle inspections. Cost is included in our estimate.

What's done at the end of each day?

Site is cleaned, debris removed, and property secured. Magnetic sweeps for nails happen at the end of each day.
